Bigger

Gracie: "It's taking a long time for me to get bigger."

Mom: "Why do you need to get bigger?"

Gracie: "To eat salad and potatoes!"

Duh!!! Gracie has reassured me dozens of times that she will eat "that" (insert any number of food items, including salad and potatoes, here) when she gets bigger. I just didn't know that literally getting bigger was the key!

We have two very cute sets of piggies at our house!!

Ellie's first pigtails.

And Gracie's toes, arguably the cutest toes ever.

Baby Ellie

Last night I told Scott I need Ellie to stay a baby as long as possible. She is getting too close to becoming a toddler, and I want her to stay my snuggly, dependent baby for as long as possible. We have started setting aside to sell the things she no longer uses, but I just can't seem to get past the gathering to the actual selling. I told Scott that by getting rid of them I am admitting Ellie is past the stage where she will use them and she really is getting older. I swear she heard me in her sleep and woke up seeming so much older than just yesterday!!

The Easter bunny DID come...

Some of you may have started to wonder if we celebrated Easter since it has been so long since I have blogged. We did in fact celebrate and started the festivities with a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Before we headed out (in the rain), Gracie reminded me that there is money in some of the eggs, remembering her score from last year. Since there wasn't, we made sure the Easter bunny left her some.

On Easter, Gracie could hardly wait to get downstairs to see her basket. She showed Mommy and Daddy everything in her basket, one thing at a time, and then she had almost as much fun showing Ellie what was in hers. It was Ellie's first Easter so Gracie did a great job showing her what it is all about.

The girls wore their new Easter dresses to church, where we spent some time remembering what the day is really about. Then, to finish out the day, we colored eggs with Uncle Brian and Aunt Becka and enjoyed a lovely pot roast Easter dinner (since we had the traditional ham dinner the week before when Grandpa and Grandma were visiting).
